Business Continuity Officer

Organization: Thames Valley Police

Salary: c£28,028 pa; Progression based on performance.

We are a highly complex and diverse organisation with a wide range of business continuity issues, operating in a fast-changing environment. This new role has been created to drive improvement throughout the organisation on all aspects of Business Continuity Management (BCM). You will provide specialist expertise on BCM for the whole organisation, ensuring that the force is up-to-date with best practice. You will work with key people throughout the organisation to ensure that BCM policies, plans and procedures are co-ordinated and effective, including testing and reviewing the plans regularly.

A proven ability to identify and analyse problems and develop workable solutions is essential, as is effective communication, interpersonal skills and proven time management. Experience of business continuity planning or a willingness to train in this is essential, preferably with membership of a recognised business continuity organisation such as the British Continuity Institute. An understanding of the operational and organisational structures of a police force would be advantageous.
