Primary Purpose
Facilitates and coordinates with various business units to ensure the continual ability of critical business units to recover from any business disruption event. Assists Supervisor of Risk Management in the development, testing, and update of Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP). Ensures that all contact information and recovery site information is continuously updated and available.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to this client’s members and staff.
• Uses the Paragon business recovery planning system to assist business units in creating Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) to assess the business unit’s relative recovery priority from any business disruption event.
• Facilitates business units in developing and updating business recovery plans by utilizing the Paragon business recovery planning system. Ensures the most current recovery plan information is always delivered to/available for senior and executive management.
• Works collaboratively with the Supervisor of Risk Management in the development and execution of test scenarios in support of business recovery plans.
• Writes reports of test activities detailing the results of BCP testing and submits to the Supervisor of Risk Management for further distribution to senior and executive management.
• Performs follow up and assists business units enhance recovery plans to address any issues identified in testing.
• Researches existing and proposed regulations and stays abreast of industry “best practices” relative to BCP to ensure continued compliance.
• Utilizes the Riskwatch risk assessment software with the direction of Supervisor of Risk Management to perform automated risk assessments on various functions throughout this client’s organization.
• Coordinates with business units to acquire information required to perform annual due diligence reviews of critical third party vendors. Tracks and reports on the status of these reviews.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field and/or comparable education/experience is required
• Two - three years of Business Continuity Planning experience preferred.
• Requires two years experience in a financial institution and have a working knowledge of primary business units within the field
• Must have good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels of responsibility within the organization.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel is required.
• Demonstrate ability to learn new software products.
Exceptional Work Schedule Demands
• Occasional travel to service center locations in Texas and Colorado.
• 8:30 a.m. - 5:30a.m., 5 day week (Mon. - Sat.). May require working evenings and weekends based on business needs.
