A leading Bank has requested the services of Andersen Steinberg to recruit a Business Continuity manager to join their Group Security (GS). As a component of Financial Services, Group Security (GS) is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining enterprise-wide fraud risk management, security risk management and business continuity management frameworks, policies and processes that will help the Bank to identify and mitigate systemic risk and maintain business operations.

Group Business Continuity Management (GBCM), an area of Group Security (GS), is responsible for maintaining, and facilitating the implementation of, the Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework and culture across the Bank. The BCM framework includes:
• Crisis and Incident Management
• Business Continuity Planning
• Disaster Recovery Planning

The Executive Manager (EM) of GBCM is accountable for the provision of BCM services to all BUs. These services include:
• Best Practice Framework
• Culture, Education and Centre of Excellence
• Advisory Services and Support
• Monitoring and Reporting

This position is expected to contribute to the achievement of the above stated accountabilities to support the Group’s vision of being Australia’s finest financial services organisation through excelling in customer service.

Purpose of Role
The Purpose of this role is to assist the EM with the maintenance, embedding and assurance of the BCM framework across the Group. Specifically Testing, maintenance, BCM training and advisory services to all BUs.

Responsibilities
• Manage customer service relationships with BU BC Managers and other customers across the Group
• Enhance and monitor the Bank’s testing strategy to ensure critical and material business functions are capable of being recovered in a reasonable timeframe
• Assist in conducting and reporting BCM policy assurance
• Assist in review and implementation of the BCM framework
• Provide advisory services to BU BC Managers on testing arrangements
• Monitor planning and testing gaps for critical and material functions across the Group to resolution
• Resolve quality issues with respect to planning and testing
• Escalate issues that cannot be reasonably resolved
• Conduct BCM training courses
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely

(Note: All tasks assigned and carried out must be performed in accordance with all relevant internal Group policies and external legislative requirements.)

Requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Substantial related business continuity or operational risk management experience; Capital Markets preferred
• Good general IT skill set, such knowledge in network, database, etc
• Strong administration skills
• Excellent facilitation skills; works well with all levels of personnel to meet common goals
• Proactive, self-motivated and delivery-oriented individual able to work without supervision
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Works well as a team player
• Strong Interpersonal skills
• Exceptional follow through skills
• 7-10 years business experience with at least 2 years related to Business Continuity (preferably in another leading FS Group)
