Senior Manager, Business Continuity Planning

Responsibilities:

The Program Management Office (PMO) drives effective and efficient delivery of initiatives through centralization of enterprise-wide programs and providing the Company with a consistent and repeatable project management methodology. The PMO also facilitates the development and management of the overall IT project portfolio to help ensure that IT investments are aligned with company strategy.

Working from within the PMO, this individual will provide program management for enterprise-wide Business Continuity Planning (BCP). This position will coordinate cross-functional, cross-geographical teams and will have the primary responsibility for managing Scope, Timelines, Budget and Resources.

This position is responsible for coordinating plans and procedures to ensure the organization can respond to a business interruption and recover critical business functions. This responsibility includes the following:
• Coordinating the design, development, maintenance, and testing of crisis management plans for each site and business recovery plans for each critical function of the organization;
• In the event of an incident, playing a key role in the coordination and communication of business recovery activities and status;
• Facilitating the integration of IT disaster recovery activities with the BCP effort;
• Linking the pandemic planning initiative with the BCP effort; and
• Building a BCP program framework to ensure a common strategic approach, a clear and consistent understanding of program roles and responsibilities across the organization, and plans and procedures which are sustainable and scalable.
These responsibilities shall be undertaken with a view that plans are practical, appropriate based on risk, and continue to be viable as the Company evolves.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or equivalent required
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant management experience in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment
- Subject matter expertise in Business Continuity Planning is required
- Demonstrated leadership and project management in enterprise-wide projects/programs is required; PMP or equivalent certification a plus.
- Strong understanding of business processes and systems is required; hands-on experience in operations or experience with process re-engineering methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma) a plus.
- Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with business continuity databases and automated notification systems is a plus (e.g., Paragon, LDRPS, Mir3, etc).
