Courses in Disaster Management have been offered by Coventry University for the past 15 years. We are a market leader, currently with over 200 students enrolled on Diploma, Undergraduate and Masters level courses in this field. We currently offer Continuing Professional Development courses in Business Continuity Management and, as a result of growing demand for these courses, we are seeking an academic/practitioner in the field of Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management. You will be encouraged to use your knowledge and expertise to help shape future teaching and applied research in this area.
We are looking for qualifications, experience and expertise that should include the following:
Masters degree in an appropriate subject and/or a good Honours degree, together with appropriate professional qualification and membership
BCM/Crisis Management experience incorporating themes such as stakeholder management, strategic decision making and risk and value management
Recent curriculum development and teaching experience at a higher education level and/or evidence of high quality presentation skills, together with evidence of coaching or teaching other professionals
Evidence of academic research, active contributions to best practice, and/or relevant consultancy
We welcome applications from both academics and practitioner/professionals. Ideally, we are seeking an individual who has practical expertise and also the ability to critically analyse issues relevant to the field of BCM and Crisis Management, both with a view to effectively facilitating learning by a wide range of students and to undertaking income-generating applied research. You will be committed to delivering a high quality service to students and external clients, with a high level of proficiency in ICT. Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills are also essential requirements for this role.
