The Business Continuity Program Manager will be responsible for the strategic implementation, integration and execution of the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Program . The Program Manager will oversee all the processes, practices, and planning for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for the Information Technology area, as well as, facilitation and coordination of business continuity planning with each business area . Responsibilities will include all phases of Business Continuity from assessing risk and gaps, to business impact analysis, remediation and testing. Numerous complex projects involving cross functional and cross discipline areas will need to be coordinated. Thorough understanding if IT services, Business Continuity, and program management disciplines is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. BC / DR Program Management
a. Lead Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program planning
b. Oversee the execution and direction of the program
c. Responsible for schedule, budget, and scope of a multi million dollar program
d. Prepares and maintains program status to CIO and Business Executives
e. Manages, coaches, mentors BC/DR team members
2. Risk Management
a. Works strategically with Executive Management to determine risk, priorities and investment strategies
b. Proactive identification of key risks in the IT and business areas
c. Develops action plans to mitigate or eliminate risk
3. BC / DR Plan maintenance and verification
a. Facilitates the maintenance and verification of the continuity plans
b. Awareness and Training: promotes business continuity management through training and awareness
c. Develops service level risk management agreements with other businesses and vendors
Requirements:
Education:
• College degree with an emphasis in Information Systems or Computer Science or relevant equivalent experience
• CBCP Certification
• ITIL Knowledge
• PMP Certification
Experience:
• 5+ experience supporting Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capabilities
• 10+ years of relevant IT or BCP experience
• 5+ years of project/program management
Skills:
• Ability to lead problem solving and provide remediation solutions
• Demonstrated success leading large complex projects and proven track record of delivery
• Demonstrated ability to determine key business continuity and disaster recovery issues and develop appropriate action plans from a multi-function perspective.
• Conversant with current best practice industry developments and trends for business continuity and disaster recovery
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communications and complex problem solving
• Travel requirements may be 20-30% during the first year or two
