Title: Business Continuity Management Specialist, Telecommunications
Location: Ontario, Canada

Andersen Steinberg are seeking on behalf of their client, a telecommunications market leader, an experienced Business Continuity specialist.

Job Description:

The Business Continuity Specialist will contribute to the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) program to ensure the company is able to meet its business requirements and obligations. The successful candidate will have the ability to work within and across business areas to coach and mentor the development of appropriate business resumption planning initiatives.

This includes:

  • Provide overall BCM organizational goals to Business Groups
  • Ensure compliance to policy at the Business Group level
  • Interface among business owners, technology experts, and business continuity professionals to meet the BCM program goals
  • Provide subject matter expertise in business continuity management including business unit assessments (BIA/RA combination), business resumption strategy development, business resumption plan development and revision, development and facilitation of scenario exercises and program maintenance across multiple Business Groups
  • Assist with training the Crisis Management/Incident Command and Business Resumption teams on any aspect of the Business Continuity Program
  • Provide training on methodology including completion of BUAs, plan development, and the use of BCM tools as required to fulfil objectives
  • Work closely with other areas of the BCM Team to report program status and assist in achieving the program goals and objectives.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the following areas: development, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise global BCM program
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional or equivalent
  • Strong relationship management, coaching and mentoring skills to be applied both strategically and tactically across the organization, globally.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver awareness and education and coach Business Groups in the development/enhancement of business resumption solutions
  • Knowledge of good practices for adoption and integration to the enterprise BCM program (ITIL, Six Sigma, ISO standards, etc.)
  • Familiarity with BCM software tools
  • Follows standard methodology to coach Business Groups in their incorporation of the BCM program for their various functional areas
  • Work complexity will vary depending upon the business group and the complexity of their services/functions and can be quite diverse within a business group and/or across the organization
  • Work independently or with colleagues to provide additional support and guidance to Business Groups and to ensure full redundancy of services within own team
  • Sound understanding of functional business areas and their inter-relationships / dependencies
  • Due to the nature of the role, it is one of influence and recommendation leveraging one's experience and expertise versus making decisions on behalf of business groups for their continuity initiatives and solutions

Title: Disaster Recovery Architect
Location: Ontario, Canada

Andersen Steinberg are seeking on behalf of their client, a telecommunications market leader, an experienced Disaster Recovery Architect.

Job Description:

The Disaster Recovery architect will work with members of various Architecture and Operational teams to define the Disaster Recovery standards in order to improve system availability and lower the risk to system outages. Defining architectures for the company’s systems and overseeing their implementation, this individual will also be responsible for participating in the development and execution of test plans to validate the solutions architected. As part of this role, the DR Architect will also work with other teams within the organization, assessing their Disaster Recovery readiness, and participating in the architecture of Disaster Recovery solutions for all parts of the business.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills
  • Minimum 7 years of IT experience with a focus on one or more of business continuity, disaster recovery, system or infrastructure architecture
  • Motivated self-starter and ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical skills, strong architectural and planning skills
  • Organized with a logical approach to solutions design and management
  • University degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
  • TOGAF and ITIL certifications and experience are assets.

Title: Manager, IT Business Continuity

Andersen Steinberg are seeking on behalf of their client, a telecommunications market leader, an experienced IT Business Continuity Manager.

Job Description:

The Manager of IT Business Continuity will define the vision, goals and objectives for this team, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Business Continuity strategy. Responsible for managing a team of IT professionals, the Manager is also responsible for the definition of the mandate and function of this team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination between IT and the Enterprise Business Continuity Team, ensuring successful completion of deliverables. Definition of architectural standards with respect to Disaster Recovery, the development, refinement and implementation of Disaster Recovery architectures and the planning and execution of test plans and are also part of the responsibilities of this position.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated organization, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills
  • Minimum 8 years of IT experience with a focus on one or more of business continuity, disaster recovery, system or infrastructure architecture
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing people, including staffing, coaching, measuring individual job performance and talent development
  • Motivated self-starter and ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks
  • Ability to motivate team members and prioritize projects and tasks
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical skills, strong architectural and planning skills
  • University degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
  • TOGAF and ITIL certifications and experience are assets.
