Primary Purpose
Business Continuity is firmly established as one of the firm's top Risk Categories. There is an ever-increasing need for a robust yet flexible approach to safeguarding the firm's franchise through mitigation of risk and our ability to recover in a timely manner. We are looking for 2 candidates at the Senior Manager or VP level who can work across the Asia region and help support business growth and the expanded responsibilities in these areas. The Business Continuity Risk Manager would be part of a team focusing on the following:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
o In-depth Front to Back analysis and review of Business Unit's critical functions in order to help determine an appropriate BU BCP strategy
o Interaction with regulators and industry groups.
o Direct interaction and relationship management with BU Ops Officers and team
o Define and implement the Asia Business Continuity Management process to develop consistency across all BUs
o Identify and promote synergies across the Asia region
o Working closely with Information Technology and Corporate Services to deliver BCP solutions for regional Business Units with emphasis upon resolving issues in a timely fashion
o Bring innovation and improvements to the existing BCP program
o Drive the BCP testing program including management of the LDRPS system / Report preparation / presentation to the local / regional Risk Committees. With a shift in Business Continuity Planning for 2008, emphasis is squarely at the Business Unit level and a greater level of involvement in helping to determine an appropriate divisional strategy and implementation approach. This is a challenging role with exposure to not only Business Continuity but also Operational Risk at the firm level.
Minimum Qualifications
o Broker/Dealer Industry exposure, someone who understands the business
o Fluent English speaker, additional languages a plus such as Cantonese / Mandarin / Japanese
o Business Line work related experience such as Operations, Financial Control, Risk Management, Internal Audit etc
o People management / Leadership skills
o Good Communication skills
o Comfortable with presenting to and interacting with Senior management and regulators Education Requirements
o Bachelor's degree
