Our client is currently looking to recruit a Security Risk Manager. The purpose of the role is to deliver the agreed Security Risk Management Services to specific business units within the UK organisation. This specifically includes expertise in relation to Fraud Risk/Incident Management, Minimum Standards, Technical Security Solutions, Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Pandemic Planning. Conducting investigations, recommending controls and providing problem solving services will also feature.

Key Activities / Responsibilities:
• Provide reassurance to Senior Management that responsibilities concerning compliance and governance issues in relation to managing security risk in the UK are being met.
• Support business unit managers in developing and practically applying a framework for identifying and managing fraud risk across the business units.
• Work with the central Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery team in the delivery of business continuity, pandemic planning and emergency management plans including a programme of testing.
• Implement Security Policy requirements and update the crime and incident reporting system.
• Ensure compliance with the requirement for minimum standards of security and provide the links required for the delivery of site security reviews and technical solutions.
• Support key stakeholders in understanding and communicating the benefits and requirements of security risk management to their teams.
• Support the provision of management information to the business units through the programme of metrics.
• Support the delivery of personal safety, business travel and lone worker initiatives through a programme of workshops and presentations.
• Ensure compliance, where appropriate, with BS25999 and manage the implementation and use of the BCP software.
• Work with the Fraud Investigations and Analysis Manager to prepare and maintain a fraud risk management model into each of the business units.
• Provide personal safety advice for colleagues.

Key skill requirements:
• Be customer-focused and have an understanding of the utility industry.
• Be an excellent communicator.
• Have professional experience in delivering risk management solutions and reporting at senior level.
• Professional qualification in managing security risk or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Academic qualification within the realms of Risk and Business Continuity Management.
• Professional experience in project management with a track record of pro activity in delivering change.
• An understanding of the risk of a pandemic and the impact it could have on a large organisation.
• Awareness of the benefits that effective business continuity planning can deliver across the risk areas of a complex organisation.
• The ability to exercise sound judgement when solving problems.
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence colleagues and instil confidence across the businesses and at Senior Management Level through a diplomatic approach.
• Analytical and report writing skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage productive relationships within the organisation and external service providers.
• An understanding of relevant British and European standards and legislation including BS25999.
• Be able to speak German or prepared to learn.
