Background info: Simulstrat is a newly formed “spin out” company from King’s College London. It develops and runs business continuity simulations, based on the war gaming methodology developed for the Joint Staff Military college at Shrivenham.

The Simulstrat methodology enables the consequences of actions to be assessed and validates the decision making processes as well as its strategic outcomes. It allows companies to test what happens when they "run the movie to the end".

This recently formed company needs a Business Continuity Manager to work closely with the management team on all aspects of simulations. It is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with world leading academics in a developing company – the scope is limitless.

Responsibilities: You will be involved in all areas of developing and running simulations, including:
• Design and development of methodologies;
• Facilitation of the actual simulations;
• Participation in the simulations;
• Production of reports after the simulations.
There is also scope to become involved in other areas of the business such as sales and marketing of the simulations.

Person
Specification:
Ideally you will have a good first degree and have gained some experience in the Business Continuity Industry.

You must be hardworking, dedicated and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

A strong team attitude is essential

You must be prepared to learn all aspects of simulations and war gaming methodology. The role would suit a junior manager in BCP who wishes to move into strategy consultancy.

Working pattern:
This is not a conventional “9 till 5” role - the volume, variety and importance of the work dictates the pace.

Some days, however, you will be required to work additional hours – particularly when working on the preparation of a Simulation, or when participating in the actual event.

Location: Simulstrat Head Office, Strand, Central London
