Position Summary:

The Business Continuity / Due Diligence Specialist (a) coordinates the development, documentation, maintenance and testing of business continuity plans and (b) is accountable for responses to due diligence requests from customers and potential customers related to security and business continuity issues. These responsibilities apply throughout the WKFS organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, develop, and implement processes to respond on behalf of WKFS to due diligence requests from customers related to security, business continuity, and disaster recovery.

Coordinate business continuity planning efforts across WKFS with Finance, Corporate Legal, Operations, Perot Systems, CTO, ITO, Human Resources, Communications, and other groups to identify goals and initiatives consistent with Sarbanes Oxley, Gramm Leach Bliley, and similar regulatory requirements. This includes the development and delivery of training for business continuity awareness, risk assessment, and communication.
Manage the compilation and analysis of Business Impact Assessments
Work with the Business Continuity site coordinators, senior management, and consultants as required, to implement business continuity policies, standards, and guidelines.

Serve as a project leader to manage the business continuity plan development process and develop training mechanisms for use by site Business Continuity Coordinators, including the use of the planning software and tools.

Create awareness training programs of business continuity plans, best practices and procedures to ensure that all staff has an understanding of where they fit and how they contribute to the overarching business continuity planning (BCP) architecture, and create training programs to promote the knowledge of information security and BCP issues throughout all areas of the organization.

Establish appropriate reporting procedures.

Work in collaboration with ITO and Perot Systems in coordinating site test exercises with internal and external parties.

Periodically conduct audit on all aspects of the business continuity plan, and provide plan status updates and recommendations to senior management.

Conduct regular BCP audits and work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent audits, such as SAS 70.

Assist other WK Business Disaster Recovery specialists in coordinating and facilitating the integration of operating using business resumption, and technology support disaster recovery plans. (This position will have heavy interaction with IT in translating business unit requirements into inputs for the design of technology recovery solutions as well as working in collaboration with IT resources during contingency tests).

Fulfill assigned recovery responsibilities in the event of a disaster.
Serve as the organization’s primary resource on industry best practices for BCP in meeting business, regulatory and legislative requirements.

Ensure that vendor and other third party BCPs are in compliance with WKFS requirements.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree. Preferred focus in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar field

Minimum 5-7 years related experience.

Additional experience in project management and/or crisis management preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications:

Must have strong project management skills and experience

Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) a plus

Must have familiarity with security related requirements of Sarbanes Oxley and Gramm Leach Bliley and current industry standards and practices related to BCP

Experience working with ISO 17799 preferred

Must have working knowledge of: Business continuity planning, risk management, Business Impact Assessments, and crisis management operations

Experience in IT operating systems, network systems and operational procedures preferred.

Experience in financial services industry preferred

Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and work well within a team environment

Results oriented / Customer focused

Strong communication, technical writing, and presentation skills

Ability to work both independently and with project teams in a project managed environment

Can work with minimal direction, coordinate & facilitate the documentation of all technical recovery procedures.
