A leading researcher in the field of risk and crisis management will talk at an Edge Hill University event about the challenges policy-makers face to protect society from disasters. Denis Fischbacher-Smith, Visiting Professor at Edge Hill University Business School and Research Chair in Risk and Resilience at the University of Glasgow, will share his research on the subject during a professorial lecture on 12th December.
His lecture entitled ‘Living in Vulcan’s Shadow: Risk management, technical expertise, and the policy challenges for emergency planning around extreme events’ puts these issues under the spotlight.
