EY hires ex-Bank of England Head of Operational Resilience, John Milne
EY has appointed John Milne as a director within its financial services IT and Cyber Risk practice. Mr. Milne joins from the Bank of England, where he led the Operational Resilience Team, and was previously at the FSA. At EY Mr. Milne will advise banks and other financial services firms on all aspects of operational resilience (including cyber and IT resilience) as EY grows its Resilience practice. More details.

25 percent of breaches go undetected for more than 24 hours
Tripwire has announced the results of a survey conducted by Atomic Research and sponsored by Tripwire of 102 financial organizations and 151 retail organizations in the UK, all of which process card payments. The survey results indicate that recent data breaches have had little impact on the security controls of retail and financial organizations. Of those surveyed, 35 percent said it would take as long as two to three days to detect a breach on their systems and 44 percent admitted that their customer data could be better protected. Internet of Things security requirements will reshape and expand global enterprise IT security programs
The power of objects in the Internet of Things (IoT) to change the state of environments - in addition to generating information - will cause chief information security officers to redefine the scope of their security efforts beyond present responsibilities, according to Gartner.

Gartner predicts that IoT security requirements will reshape and expand over half of all global enterprise IT security programs by 2020.
