Sanbolic has announced the launch of Sanbolic AppCluster support for public clouds. Sanbolic AppCluster, a Microsoft SQL Server specific module within its Melio software, extends the agility, high availability, and scalability of SQL Server workloads across physical, virtualized, and now – both private and public cloud environments. With the addition of public cloud support, customers will be able to further minimize the cost and complexity of managing SQL Server clusters, while extending the economics of public cloud to one of the most widely deployed database server and information platforms in the world.

Kroll Ontrack has announced the availability of a new version of Ontrack EasyRecovery, the do-it-yourself software tool for data recovery. Ontrack EasyRecovery 10 has a new, intuitive user interface for both the Mac and Windows versions, as well as multiple drive types and file formats, and is equipped with a free trial option so users can check what files can be recovered prior to purchasing the software.
Ontrack EasyRecovery is offered in three editions: Ontrack EasyRecovery Enterprise; Ontrack EasyRecovery Professional; Ontrack EasyRecovery Home. The Institute of Risk Management has announced that it is launching a new set of awards for the risk management profession.IRM’s new Global Risk Awards are currently under development. The awards ceremony will take place in London in the Spring of 2013.

FEMA has announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to Oklahoma to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding during the period of April 28 to May 1, 2012. Nancy M. Casper has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area.
