Chloride acquires Emergency Power Systems
Chloride, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and services, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Emergency Power Systems plc, a UK provider of standby power solutions and services. Based in Sheffield and Glasgow, Emergency Power Systems plc manufactures fully integrated standby power products for emergency lighting, UPS and diesel generators, typically utilised in complex and demanding applications in rail, defence, government, retail, healthcare and industrial sectors. Emergency Power Systems will continue to operate as a standalone business, and Derek W Plowright, the former owner, will continue as managing director along with the existing management team structure to ensure a seamless transition into the Chloride Group. www.chloridepower.co.uk

CAPS and eGlobal Insight form partnership delivering an advanced failover and notification communications system
US-based Computer Alternative Processing Sites (CAPS), Inc. and eGlobal Insight, Inc. have announced a partnership to offer what the companies claim will be the market's fastest and most highly advanced failover and notification communications system. Under the agreement's terms, eGlobal Insight's system becomes part of the CAPS Total IT Solutions products and services roster, expands its business footprint into the IT infrastructure data center space and selects CAPS as its data center disaster recovery site provider. 3PAR changes the way utility storage is provisioned for virtual server and database environments
3PAR has announced three new platform enhancements designed to automate and streamline storage server provisioning, particularly in clustered and virtual server environments. 3PAR Autonomic Groups, new utility storage software designed to enhance data centre agility and efficiency, enables users to create volume groups on 3PAR InServ Storage Servers that simplify, automate, and expedite storage provisioning, monitoring, and data protection in clustered and virtual server environments. Also announced today, 3PAR Scheduler provides an automated scheduling facility for routine execution of InServ provisioning commands while 3PAR Host Explorer automates host discovery and collection of detailed InServ host configuration information. New COOP Systems distributor in Thailand
COOP Systems has announced that Twoplus Soft Co., Ltd. has agreed to sell and support a fully localized myCOOP business continuity software package to the Thai market.
