FEMA has announced final allocations for Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 Preparedness Grants for 10 federal grant programs, totaling nearly $970 million in federal funding to assist state, local and tribal governments and private industry in strengthening community preparedness. Awards will be made on a rolling basis over the summer. Read press release.

A survey by Infosecurity Europe has found that spending on information security is likely to increase, according to 55 percent of the 1010 respondents asked. 34 percent expect their spending to remain the same as last year. Only 8 percent expect minor reductions of less than 5 percent of last year’s spending and 2 percent expect significant reductions of more than 5 percent. www.infosec.co.uk
