Defra's Exotic Animal Disease Generic Contingency Plan has been laid before Parliament. The plan is amended annually and is produced for Defra by the UK Animal Health agency. It includes an overarching plan for dealing with a range of exotic animal diseases, as well as plans for responding to specific diseases including Foot and Mouth Disease, Avian Influenza and, for the first time, Rabies and Bluetongue. SAVVIS has won a £3.5 million contract from Augustus Asset Managers Limited, an independent investment manager of segregated accounts and hedge funds, in a four year IT infrastructure outsourcing deal to support business continuity of Augustus’ critical IT infrastructure. The SAVVIS business continuity offering includes mirrored, dual data centres and an off-site business continuity suite.
