Iron Mountain continues expansion in Ireland with acquisition of Datastroy
Iron Mountain Incorporated has bought Datastroy, an Irish secure shredding company. The acquisition enables Iron Mountain to offer its customers a complete chain of custody service in Ireland, collecting records in the first instance, through to securely shredding and recycling them at the end of their lifecycle. Iron Mountain will now be able to offer its complete range of records management, data protection and secure shredding services to more than 1,500 customers across the region. www.ironmountain.com

English FMD surveillance zone lifted
Defra has confirmed that on 5 November the Foot and Mouth Disease Surveillance Zone was lifted and became part of the wider Restricted Zone. Extensive surveillance has been completed in the Surveillance Zone and no further cases of Foot and Mouth Disease have been discovered. The current Restricted Zone, and movement restrictions that apply in this zone, remain in place. http://www.defra.gov.uk

New government website tracks US Drought
The US government has unveiled a new website to monitor US drought conditions, get forecasts, and understand drought impacts. Called the US Drought Portal, the www.drought.gov site was developed for the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS).
