The Neverfail Group has announced the appointment of Paddy Falls as its group chief technology officer. Bringing 30 years of software industry experience, Falls will be responsible for Neverfail's technology development and product roadmap. Most recently, Falls was the CTO and co-founder of UK-based iOra, a division of Corpora, which provides accelerated access and replication services to remote servers and laptops. Falls co-founded iOra in 1997 and served as both its CEO and CTO during its startup phase. In 2005, iOra was acquired by Corpora.

A survey by SmartLine conducted at the Infosecurity Europe show found that 80 percent of respondents believed that their company had lost valuable confidential data through the use of mobile storage devices to download and steal the information.
Customers say they will vote with their feet and pull out of Orcon’s data centre on Auckland’s North Shore following a major outage. Andrew Thompson, of Auckland-based software developer TVD, says his company has had enough after the outage. Slamming the redundancy arrangements as ‘pathetic’ and questioning why there is only a single power feed to the Northcote data centre, Thompson says his company lost tens of thousands of dollars as a result of the failure.
