The Government of Poland and the World Bank have signed a €140 million loan to co-finance the Government’s Odra River Basin Flood Protection Project. The Project, which will be implemented over a six-year period will provide protection against flooding in several major towns and settlements in the voivodships of Slaskie, Opolskie and Dolnoslaskie.
Singapore Telecommunications Limited and Addvalue Communications Pte Ltd have announced that they will jointly promote and market a cost effective, satellite-based business continuity communications package. Priced at US$99.90 per month, the portable package uses Broadband Global Area Network, which is a satellite solution that enables voice and broadband communications in regions without adequate communications infrastructure. “SingTel’s BGAN should be a critical component of any business continuity plan,” said Mr Titus Yong, Head of SingTel’s Satellite. “With this package, which includes links to corporate networks and end-to-end solutions offered by SingTel, corporations can set up a broadband mobile office easily and reliably in remote locations or in situations where normal communications infrastructure breaks down, for instance due to disasters, without a hefty upfront cost.” www.addvaluetech.com
