Chertoff presents budget request to appropriations committee
DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff has appeared before the United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on Homeland Security Committee on Appropriations to to highlight some of DHS’s key accomplishments of the last year and present President Bush's FY 2008 budget for the DHS. Financial support for bushfire victims
Fire victims in Victoria’s south-west are now eligible for extra financial assistance to help meet immediate recovery costs following a joint decision between Australian Prime Minister John Howard and Premier Steve Bracks.
The Community Recovery Fund supports a one-off Clean-up and Restoration Grant of up to $15,000 for primary producers, small business and charities to assist with clean-up and recovery not covered by insurance arrangements. Freeman shares pandemic business continuity plan
The US company, Freeman, has developed a comprehensive plan for maintaining business continuity during an avian influenza pandemic, and the company has made it available on the Internet to help business continuity planners in other companies. Download a copy of the plan (Word document).
