IXEurope acquires 11th data centre
IX Europe plc, one of Europe ’s largest and fastest growing independent datacentre outsourcers, has acquired its eleventh data centre, in Munich . The 11,600 m2 Munich data centre, the Group’s fourth in Germany , was built in 2000 for KPNQwest at a cost in excess of £17 million (€25 million) to provide approximately 4,600m2 of net data centre space. The datacentre asset has been acquired for a nominal amount together with a long lease for the property. IXEurope plans to invest approximately £1 million (€1.5 million) on refurbishing and upgrading the facility.

GeoCritical announces the release of a hurricane impact analysis and forecasting tool for the 2006 hurricane season
GeoCritical LLC, a maker of critical infrastructure and risk mapping for corporations, has announced a new business continuity service for the 2006 hurricane season. The service will supply subscribers twice daily forecast projections once the National Weather Service declares the formation of a hurricane. The application known as GeoRiskMap serves as an early warning indicator and allows clients to visualize their critical infrastructure in relation to the hurricane's projected path. The early warning indicator will allow for the activation of business continuity plans and pre-crisis management planning. http://www.georiskmap.com
