At a recent symposium, the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) briefed delegates on the current status of its disaster recovery programme and its plans to take it forward in 2010. Francis E. Lim, PSE president and chief executive officer, said that in 2010 the PSE expected to enter into a co-location agreement with a service provider for the maintenance of a disaster recovery site.

Japan hit by double earthquake
A strong earthquake has hit northwestern Japan. Gas services were cut to about 35,000 homes and the water supply to the whole of Kashiwazaki, a city of some 95,000 inhabitants, was disrupted.
